【Charity Cheung — From Home Roasting to Winning the France Brewers Cup】
Charity’s coffee journey began just five years ago. At the time, she “simply liked to drink a good cup of coffee,” and never imagined she would one day step into the industry. During the lockdown period, she and her partner started roasting and selling coffee in the Champagne region of France, gradually turning a hobby into a profession.
In her first competition in 2021, she went over time. Just one year later, she won the 2022 France Brewers Cup Championship. In 2024, she claimed the national title once again and ranked 5th on the world stage. Her competition journey continues to shape the way she brews and shares coffee today.
At World of Coffee, Charity demonstrated the Femobook A2 and showed the audience how a grinder that is super light and really beautiful can still deliver a cup with a very good balance of flavor.
【A Super Light Grinder at Only ~600g】
During the demo, the first thing Charity said when she picked up the A2 was: “Super light.”
She placed it on a scale out of curiosity and found it weighs only about 600 grams.
She described it as super light, travel-friendly, and really beautiful.
【Easy to Use: One-Button Start & Type-C Charging】
The A2 charges via a Type-C port on the back.
Charity also demonstrated how simple it is to operate:
To power it on, simply hold the top button until the blue light appears. After adding the coffee beans, press the button again to begin grinding.
【Low Grinding Noise】
During the demo, Charity pointed out, “The good thing about it is that it’s super quiet.”
She was able to let the grinder run on the side while preparing other brewing tools, as the sound didn’t interfere with her workflow.
【Auto Stop After Grinding】
Compared to other Femobook grinders, she noted that the A2 takes a little longer.
Grinding 14 grams of coffee takes about 40 seconds, which she considers acceptable.
Once the grinding is complete, the A2 stops automatically.
【Solid Battery Life: Good for 20–80 Cups】
Charity noted that the A2 performs well in terms of battery life.[1]
Depending on the grind size, it can deliver:
-
Filter grind: around 80 cups
-
Espresso grind: around 20 cups [2]
This range makes the A2 convenient for both home use and travel.

1. The A2 comes with a replaceable battery module, letting you swap in new batteries as they age — keeping your grinder ready for years to come.
2. The number of grinds per charge may vary slightly depending on the bean type and grind size.
【Flavor Performance: Very Good Balance】
Charity described the A2’s flavor profile as well-balanced.
While it may not produce the same level of complexity as Femobook’s higher-end models, its balanced cup profile is often what people look for in everyday brewing.
【Charity’s Pour-over Recipe】
In her demonstration, Charity brewed an infused pink bourbon using:
-
Coffee: 14g
-
Bloom: 50g water
-
Total water: 214g
-
Total brew time: 2:40
** She also shared her approach to brewing infused coffees:
Because their aromatics and flavors can be quite funky, she prefers using a higher water-to-coffee ratio to keep the cup from becoming too intense and to make the overall profile more approachable.
【Charity’s Overall Thoughts on the Femobook A2】
The Femobook A2 left a strong first impression on Charity with its lightweight and travel-friendly design, weighing only around 600 g. It also offers straightforward charging through a Type-C port, which keeps daily use simple.
She noted that the grinding noise is relatively low, allowing her to prepare other brewing tools at the same time without disrupting her workflow. In terms of battery performance, the A2 delivers roughly 20 to 80 cups per charge, depending on grind size and brewing methods, making it suitable for both home use and travel.
As for flavor, Charity mentioned that while the A2 may not produce the same level of complexity as some of Femobook’s other grinders, it offers a cup with very good balance.
Taken together, her impressions show that the A2 achieves a thoughtful balance — making it a grinder that fits naturally into everyday brewing as well as life on the go.
